BALGOWLAH HOUSE

This project involves the transformation of an original manor house in Balgowlah through carefully considered alterations and additions. The existing building is retained and reconfigured to enhance functionality, while a new roof form is introduced to complement the character of the neighbourhood. A contemporary rear extension, connected by a glass link, seamlessly integrates old and new.

The landscape design by ALDA maximises outdoor spaces, featuring a communal pool, outdoor entertaining and living areas, as well as a refined front landscape that responds to the street condition. Large landscape cut-outs between the existing and new structures enhance privacy, improve solar efficiency and create a living environment immersed in greenery.
